Triyuginarayan Temple Wedding — Frequently Asked Questions

Everything couples ask us before booking, answered in full. If your question isn't here, WhatsApp us directly and we'll answer it properly rather than pointing you back to this page.

Yes. Marriages solemnised under Vedic Hindu rites at Triyuginarayan Mandir are legally recognised under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955. The temple gives you a signed ceremony receipt. For an official government marriage certificate, you'll also register the marriage at your local Sub-Registrar office afterward — we guide you through that step.
May–June and September to mid-November are the most reliable months — clearer skies and accessible roads. July–August monsoon rains make mountain roads difficult, and the temple area is largely inaccessible after heavy snowfall from late November through April.
Triyuginarayan is a functioning Hindu mandir and the ceremony follows Vedic rites. Interfaith couples are welcome where both partners are comfortable participating in the rituals with genuine respect. Speak with us directly about your specific situation and we'll give you a straightforward answer.
For weddings that include accommodation, 3–4 months ahead is a sensible window. For larger guest counts, 5–6 months gives more room. Peak-season weekends in May, October and November fill up fastest. A very small, simple ceremony can sometimes be arranged with just a few weeks' notice — ask us and we'll tell you honestly what's realistic for your date.
Aadhaar card or valid passport for both bride and groom, a couple of passport-size photographs each, and — where relevant — a divorce or death certificate if either partner was previously married. NRI couples need a valid passport and visa. We send a full checklist once your date is confirmed.
Yes — the bride must be at least 18 and the groom at least 21, in line with Indian marriage law generally, not a rule unique to this temple.
The sanctum itself comfortably holds a small number of people during the core rituals — often around 10 to 15 up close. A wider gathering of 20 to 80 guests can be accommodated nearby for the rest of the celebration, depending on which package you choose.
Our packages start from roughly ₹42,000 for an intimate elopement-style ceremony and scale up based on guest count, number of days, accommodation and décor level. Fully custom weddings are quoted individually. See our Marriage Packages page for a full comparison.
There are no hotels inside the temple village itself. Most guests stay in the village's simple guesthouses or in more comfortable hotels a short drive away in Guptkashi or Sonprayag, depending on comfort needs and budget.
Yes — we coordinate transport from Rishikesh, Haridwar or Dehradun, and plan the local movement of your guest group so arrivals aren't scattered across the day in a way that's hard to manage.
Yes, both. We work with photographers and makeup artists familiar with this exact venue and its light and logistics — see our Services page for details on each.
Once your date is confirmed with an advance, we begin coordinating the temple, priests, accommodation, transport and any additional services in your package, and stay in touch with you on WhatsApp throughout the run-up so you always know where things stand.
